My Story
Hi, I’m Ashleigh Hillyer, a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist based in South Western Sydney. I provide online and mobile speech therapy, working with children and families in their homes, schools, and preschools to create supportive, familiar environments where communication can thrive.

I work with toddlers, children, teens, and their parents, offering personalised support to help each individual find their voice and build confidence in how they connect with the world.

I’ve always known I wanted to work in a helping profession; something hands-on, where I could use creativity and problem-solving to make a real difference. Speech pathology felt like the perfect fit, and I haven’t looked back since.

I completed my Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) at Sydney University in 2015. Since then, I’ve developed a strong focus on working with neurodivergent children and teens, as well as supporting literacy development. I’ve continued to expand my knowledge through professional training in areas like ASD, ADHD, PDA, Key Word Sign, and Sounds-Write, along with ongoing learning in language development, social skills, and literacy.

My practice is client-centred and neuroaffirming. That means I tailor each session to suit my client’s personality, learning style, and interests, and I work closely with families to support their goals. I aim to create spaces where kids can grow in ways that feel true to who they are, without pressure to conform to expectations that don’t fit them.

On a more personal note, I share my home (and sometimes my sessions!) with my miniature dachshund, Poppy, who keeps me on my toes with her boundless energy. I also have ADHD, which gives me a unique perspective and deeper empathy when working with neurodivergent clients. In my downtime, I love going to the gym, watching sport (especially rugby union and F1), and diving into games like Super Mario and Pokémon.
